A Green Paint Job Isn’t the Only Change for 2027

Lexus is giving its IS sport sedan a new look for 2027 rather than a new engine. The headline addition is a Special Appearance Package built off the IS 350 F SPORT, wrapped in a green paint color called Envious and set off with black BBS forged alloy wheels. Buyers who skip the package still get the same V6 power and the same starting price of $47,545 before delivery, processing and handling fees.

What the Special Appearance Package Adds

The Envious green paint stands apart from the IS lineup’s usual color sheet, which runs from Ultra White and Cloudburst Gray to Caviar and Infrared. Along with the exterior color and 19-inch black BBS wheels, the package brings black NuLuxe-trimmed seats with Ultrasuede inserts, stitched in green and finished with satin chrome trim. It’s a cosmetic package rather than a performance one, aimed at a buyer who already likes the IS 350 F SPORT and wants it to stand out in a parking lot.

Still One Engine, Still 311 Horsepower

Lexus sells the IS in the US only as the IS 350, powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 311 horsepower, in F SPORT Design and F SPORT trim. An eight-speed automatic sends power to the rear wheels as standard, with all-wheel drive available, and rear-wheel-drive models get a Torsen limited-slip differential to help put that power down through a corner. Adaptive Variable Suspension adjusts damping automatically, and Drive Mode Select lets a driver switch between a relaxed Normal setting for daily traffic and a sharper Sport S+ mode that quickens the throttle and steering response.

Inside the Cabin

The IS carries a 12.3-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen and a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. F SPORT Design models now come with a heated steering wheel as standard for 2027, and the center console gets “Forged Bamboo” trim with a shaded finish unique to the model. Every IS ships with a 10-speaker Lexus Premium Sound system, and buyers can step up to a 17-speaker Mark Levinson setup as a factory option. Two USB-C ports sit at the front of the console alongside wireless phone charging, with two more USB-C ports for rear passengers.

Standard Safety Tech

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes standard across the IS lineup. It bundles automatic high beams, a pre-collision system that watches for pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles and can brake automatically if the driver doesn’t react, and full-speed dynamic radar cruise control that holds a set gap from traffic ahead. Lane Tracing Assist reads the lane markings and helps keep the car centered, while Lane Departure Alert adds a steering nudge if the car drifts without a signal. Road Sign Assist reads speed limit and stop signs and displays them on the driver’s screen, and Proactive Driving Assist can apply light braking or steering input heading into a curve or toward a slower vehicle ahead.

Pricing by Trim

Lexus has kept the IS lineup small for years, and the Special Appearance Package fits a pattern the brand has leaned on before: rather than adding a new grade or a new engine, Lexus dresses up an existing model with a distinct color and trim combination sold in limited numbers. Buyers who want the green paint and black wheels but not the F SPORT badge don’t have that option; the package only comes on the IS 350 F SPORT.

Lexus lists four IS 350 configurations for 2027, all with pricing that includes the $1,395 delivery, processing and handling fee:

The IS remains a rear-wheel-drive sedan first, a layout that’s grown rarer in this price range as rivals shift toward front-wheel-drive-based platforms shared with crossovers. That format, combined with the V6 and the Torsen limited-slip differential, gives the IS a different character behind the wheel than most six-cylinder competitors, which increasingly lean on turbocharged four-cylinder engines to hit fuel economy targets. For 2027, Lexus is betting that buyers who still want a V6 and a stick-shift-era feel from an automatic sport sedan will pay for it, green paint or not.
