Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced the 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan has been named SUV of the Year in the Latin Flavor Cars of the Year 2026 awards by Puros Autos, a leading automobile source for the Hispanic population in the United States.

According to Puros Autos, the Tiguan stood out among competitors in the SUV category for its improvements in connectivity, solidifying its status as one of the most well-rounded compact SUVs on the market.

The Latin Flavor Car of the Year awards highlight the growing purchasing power and preference of Hispanics for certain car models and brands by honoring the brands that have recognized this influence and adapted their marketing and product development strategies to better serve this demographic.

The Tiguan entered its third generation as an all-new 2025 model with more power, better fuel efficiency, and improved safety-enhancing features compared to the outgoing model, along with a premium cabin and expressive exterior design. Trims for model year 2026 include S, SE, SE R-Line Black, and a new SEL R-Line Turbo. The latter boasts a new 268-hp 2.0-liter EA888 evo5 engine, and all trims benefit from a revised Travel Assist system with driver-initiated lane change capability. Pricing starts at $30,805 MSRP. Destination is $1,475 for all trims.
