A Cayenne Electric That Opens Its Own Doors
Porsche has added a set of new options to the all-electric Cayenne for 2027, and the headline feature closes itself. Buyers can now order doors that open and shut with servo motors, seats that combine a massage function with music, and a paint palette that has grown to 105 colors. The updates apply to both the Cayenne Electric SUV and the lower, sportier Cayenne Coupe Electric.

Doors That Open With a Tug and Close With a Seatbelt
The new door system starts with a short pull on the handle. Servo motors then finish the motion, swinging all four doors open or shut on their own. Drivers and passengers can also trigger the doors from inside the cabin, through buttons built into the door handles, the Flow Display on the center screen, or remotely through the Porsche Digital Key app on a phone. Buckling the seatbelt or pressing the brake pedal closes the driver’s door automatically, without a second tap of any button.
Sensors track the space around each door while it moves. A detected obstacle or person stops the motion instantly, and the doors will not swing open if another vehicle is approaching on the driver’s side. Anyone who prefers the old-fashioned method can still open and close every door by hand at any point.
Porsche is not the first automaker to sell power doors. Kia offers them on the EV9, and Genesis fits similar hardware to the GV60. Bringing the feature to the Cayenne line puts Porsche’s electric SUV in step with a group of luxury and mainstream electric rivals that increasingly treat automatic doors as a genuine selling point rather than a gimmick reserved for minivans.
Massage Seats Tuned to Music
The front seats now pack 16 air cushions and six sound actuators into the backrest and cushion of both the driver and passenger positions. Porsche calls the combination 4D audio: the seats vibrate in time with whatever is playing through the speakers, layered over five massage programs with adjustable intensity and selectable vibration settings. Buyers can also run the 4D audio on its own, separate from the massage function, and adjust the strength and spread of the vibration through the center display.

Three new Wellness Mood Modes bundle the massage, vibration and matching soundscapes into single presets, aimed at long highway stretches where a driver’s back and shoulders tend to tighten up. It is a feature built for the kind of road-trip driving an SUV like the Cayenne gets bought to handle.
105 Paint Colors and New Interior Trim
Porsche is bringing the Cayenne Electric into its Paint to Sample program, which adds 92 shades on top of the 13 colors already split across the brand’s Contrasts, Shades, Dreams and Legends palettes. That brings the total to 105 exterior colors, a level of paint choice once reserved for the 911 and other sports cars in the lineup.
Inside, the 2027 model year adds an Extended Package Interior Style, with leather-trimmed surfaces and stitching in Delgada Green, plus Race-Tex seat consoles and door sill trim front and rear. Porsche’s existing Interior Style Package, a two-tone black-and-green design from the Style Porsche studio, remains available across every Cayenne Electric variant.
Pricing Holds Steady Across Six Versions
None of the new features move the sticker price for 2027. Pricing carries over unchanged from 2026 across all six versions of the Cayenne Electric:
- Cayenne Electric SUV: $109,000
- Cayenne Electric Coupe: $113,800
- Cayenne S Electric SUV: $126,300
- Cayenne S Electric Coupe: $131,200
- Cayenne Turbo Electric SUV: $163,000
- Cayenne Turbo Electric Coupe: $168,000
Those figures exclude a $2,350 delivery, processing and handling fee, along with tax, title and registration. Orders are open now through Porsche’s dealer network or its online configurator, with the first deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2027.
The Cayenne Electric competes against the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, the BMW iX and, at the top end, the Range Rover Electric, all of which keep adding comfort features to justify six-figure price tags. A Cayenne Turbo Electric Coupe fitted with the new doors, the massage seats and a custom paint color pushes well past $170,000 before a buyer even reaches for wheel upgrades or the driver assistance options list. For shoppers cross-referencing the segment, the door and seat technology narrows the gap between what a Porsche buyer gets and what rivals from Mercedes and BMW already offer at similar money.
The base Cayenne Electric SUV at $109,000 remains the entry point into the lineup, sitting below the S and Turbo trims on power and standard equipment but sharing the same options list. A buyer who wants the automatic doors or the massage seats on the cheapest version pays the same add-on price as someone ordering the range-topping Turbo Electric Coupe, which means the percentage increase in cost is steeper on the base SUV than on the flagship. That detail is worth knowing for shoppers building a Cayenne Electric close to the $109,000 starting point, where a handful of options can push the total tens of thousands of dollars higher before tax and registration are even added to the bill.
