OMODA and JAECOO Cut Used Car Finance to 7.9% APR Until January 2027

  • OMODA and JAECOO have cut the APR on their OJ Approved used car finance scheme from 8.9% to 7.9%, with the lower rate running until 6 January 2027.
  • Every car on the scheme keeps the remainder of the brands’ seven-year, 100,000-mile warranty, plus a free two-year service plan and a 30-day exchange window.
  • The cut lands weeks after the JAECOO 7 became Britain’s best-selling new car for September, a sign of how fast the two brands have grown after arriving in the UK in 2024.

A cheaper way into a used OMODA or JAECOO

Buying a used OMODA or JAECOO just got cheaper. The two brands have cut the representative APR on their OJ Approved finance scheme to 7.9%, down from the 8.9% rate it launched with, on qualifying pre-owned models bought through Personal Contract Purchase. The offer runs until 6 January 2027 and is backed by BNP Paribas Personal Finance and Black Horse.

OJ Approved launched in January 2026 as the manufacturer-backed used car programme for both brands, sold through ojapproved.co.uk and the wider OMODA and JAECOO retailer network. Nine months on, the rate cut gives buyers one national finance offer rather than a patchwork of retailer-set rates, and it arrives as a genuine wave of used stock starts to reach the market: more than 100,000 OMODA and JAECOO cars have now been sold in the UK, and early examples are beginning to change hands.

What buyers actually get for the money

The headline rate is only part of the pitch. Every OJ Approved car carries over the balance of OMODA and JAECOO’s seven-year, 100,000-mile manufacturer warranty, and the high-voltage batteries in electric and Super Hybrid System models keep eight years and 100,000 miles of separate cover. Both brands only arrived in the UK in 2024, so even the oldest used examples still carry roughly five years of warranty, and OJ Approved says it will guarantee a minimum of two years on every car it sells regardless of age or mileage.

Buyers also get a complimentary two-year service plan, which removes one of the biggest unknowns in buying used: what routine maintenance will actually cost over the next couple of years. A 30-day, 1,000-mile exchange policy lets a buyer hand the car back and pick something else if it does not suit them once they have lived with it, something few used car programmes from mainstream manufacturers offer as standard.

Every car on the scheme goes through a multi-point safety and condition inspection alongside independent history and mileage checks before it reaches a forecourt. Electric and plug-in hybrid models also receive a Battery State of Health Certificate, a document that tells a buyer how much of the original battery capacity remains, a detail that counts for more when shopping for a used EV than a used petrol car, where engine wear is harder to quantify from a glance under the bonnet.

A rate cut at a record month for the brand

The rate cut comes at what OMODA and JAECOO UK is calling its strongest month yet. September sales rose 106% year on year, giving the combined brand house a 6.37% share of the new car market, while the JAECOO 7 took the title of Britain’s best-selling new car for the second time in 2026. Victor Zhang, managing director of OMODA and JAECOO UK, said the finance cut was a direct response to what customers and retailers were telling the brand about buying used.

“We listen closely to UK customers and our retailers, and we move quickly when the market tells us something,” Zhang said. “OJ Approved is a great example. Customers wanted more choice and more confidence when buying used, and in just nine months we’ve built a programme and now an even more competitive finance rate.”

Zhang also linked the used car push to protecting resale values for every owner, new or used. “By setting clear standards for every car that carries the OJ Approved name, and keeping those cars within our network, we’re supporting strong residual values for every OMODA and JAECOO owner, whether they bought new or used,” he said. “That matters to customers when the time comes to change their car, and it matters to our retailers too.”

What used car buyers should check

For anyone shopping the OJ Approved range, three things decide whether the lower APR actually saves money over a standard used car loan: the deposit required, the agreed mileage limit on the PCP contract, and the optional final payment needed to own the car outright at the end of the term. A lower representative rate does not automatically mean a lower monthly payment if the deposit or balloon payment sits higher than a rival deal, so it is worth asking a retailer for the full written quote rather than relying on the advertised APR alone.

Buyers should also confirm in writing which parts of the warranty and the Battery State of Health Certificate apply to the specific car on the forecourt, as cover varies by age, mileage and model. The scheme spans petrol, electric and Super Hybrid System cars across both brands, from OMODA’s crossovers to JAECOO’s off-road-styled SUVs, so the paperwork is not identical from one car to the next.

The 7.9% APR offer is available on qualifying OJ Approved vehicles now through 6 January 2027, subject to status and finance terms, with full details and eligible cars listed at ojapproved.co.uk.
