Mazda CX-6e Priced From £42,990 With Up to 300 Miles of Electric Range

Mazda has confirmed UK pricing for the CX-6e, its new mid-size electric SUV, with the range starting at £42,990 for the Takumi grade and rising to £45,350 for the better-equipped Takumi Plus. The car arrives in UK showrooms late this year, joining the Mazda6e as the brand’s second all-electric model.

Both grades share the same running gear: a 78kWh battery driving the rear wheels through a single motor producing 258PS and 290Nm of torque. Mazda quotes a WLTP range of up to 300 miles and a 10-80% DC charge time of 24 minutes at speeds up to 200kW, figures that put the CX-6e in the same conversation as established rivals from Skoda, Volkswagen, and Hyundai in the mid-size electric SUV class.

What You Get for £42,990

The entry-level Takumi rides on 19-inch wheels, with a £1,000 option to step up to 21-inch rims. Every CX-6e gets a 26.45-inch dual-split touchscreen as the centrepiece of the dashboard, backed by a head-up display, gesture control, and voice recognition that Mazda says responds to everyday requests like adjusting the temperature or finding a destination without the driver hunting through menus.

Safety kit is standard across the range rather than reserved for the top trim. Every CX-6e comes with nine airbags, Smart Brake Support, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring, backed by a network of cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors.

Interior trim uses Maztex, Mazda’s vegan leather alternative, available in Stone or Black on Takumi models and a two-tone Amethyst and White combination on the Takumi Plus. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, alongside a dedicated smartphone app that handles Bluetooth key sharing and remote battery charge management.

The £45,350 Takumi Plus Adds Comfort Features

Stepping up to the Takumi Plus brings 21-inch wheels as standard rather than an option, along with digital rear-view and side cameras replacing conventional mirrors on parts of the car. The top trim also adds heated outer rear seats, ventilated outer rear seat bases, and a translucent interior styling bar with ambient lighting, plus extra controls on the rear touchscreen so back-seat passengers can adjust their own climate and comfort settings.

Boot space runs to 468 litres with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,434 litres with them folded flat, useful figures for a car pitched at families cross-shopping combustion SUVs as much as existing EV owners.

A Second Electric Model in Quick Succession

The CX-6e lands only months after the Mazda6e, and the pace signals how quickly Mazda wants to build out its electric range after years of leaning on hybrid and combustion power. Mazda Motors UK managing director Jeremy Thomson said the CX-6e’s arrival follows “hot on the heels of the Mazda6e,” and pointed to the pricing as a deliberate move to compete hard in the electric SUV segment rather than sit at a premium to rivals.

Exterior colour choice runs to seven shades, headlined by a new Nightfall Violet finish that shifts between deep purple and near-black depending on the light. The CX-6e was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in January before this UK pricing confirmation, giving buyers a first look at the styling months ahead of the on-sale date.

With sub-£46,000 pricing, a 300-mile range claim, and standard safety equipment that many rivals still charge extra for, the CX-6e gives Mazda a genuine contender in a segment that has grown crowded with options from Skoda, Volkswagen, Hyundai, and Kia. UK deliveries are expected before the end of the year, with full order books to follow the late-2026 on-sale date.
