Mercedes‑AMG unveils the interior of the upcoming new Mercedes‑AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, underscoring the brand’s ambition to make performance much more than measurable data and truly an all-encompassing experience. The interior emphasizes the vehicle’s core purpose: a quintessential AMG driving experience with thrilling driving dynamics and precise control. The interior is an in-house development from Affalterbach, designed to create the most direct possible interaction between human and machine.

“In the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, we have consistently focused every interior detail on performance and implemented it with the highest precision. Even when stationary, the interior already showcases what the future GT 4-Door is capable of, making the vehicle’s driving dynamics immediately tangible. It creates maximum control and enables a typical AMG driving experience that gets the pulse racing.”
Michael Schiebe, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Production, Quality and Supply Chain Management, and Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH

Sports car DNA combined with the attributes of a grand tourer: The best of both worlds

The interior of the AMG GT 4‑Door Coupe consistently focuses on the driving experience. The low seating position, typical of a sports car and perfectly integrated into the overall vehicle, immediately conveys a focused, emotional driving experience, familiar from models like the two-door Mercedes‑AMG GT. The entire operating philosophy is designed for intuitive control of all relevant driving functions. This ensures the focus remains where it belongs: on the driving experience.

AMG RACE ENGINEER delivers driving dynamics at the highest level

A key highlight of the interior design are the three driving dynamics controls on the center console that allow the throttle response, traction and handling characteristics to be adjusted in an instant. These bring together key parameters of the vehicle’s character and give experienced drivers the highest level of vehicle control and driving dynamics:

  • The “Response Control” dial coordinates the response of the electric motors to accelerator pedal commands.
  • The “Agility Control” rotary control changes the agility around the vertical axis and thus the cornering behavior.
  • The “Traction Control” rotary control – used to control slip – influences the intervention of the traction control in nine stages.

Behind this lies a precisely coordinated system of hardware components and software functions grouped under the name AMG RACE ENGINEER. Via the three rotary controls – known as the AMG RACE ENGINEER Control Unit – the system provides direct access to the vehicle’s central nervous system. This enables a previously unattained level of driving dynamics that can be precisely tailored to driving style and the driving situation. The three rotary controls are oriented towards the driver and ensure intuitive operation with tactile feedback. These echo the design of the outer climate control air vents.

The cockpit: Command center for performance enthusiasts

The high-performance DNA of the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is reflected in the driver-focused cockpit, which immediately invites the driver to get behind the wheel. The dashboard is dominated by a wide display, which is divided into a driver-oriented area and a slightly offset passenger area. The razor-sharp driver displays, consisting of a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch multimedia display, combine to form a seamless single unit.

The 14-inch multimedia display is ergonomically angled towards the driver for optimum readability and intuitive operation. In addition, an exclusive 14-inch passenger display with separate content is also available. This allows the front passenger to immerse themselves in the sporty digital experience.

Striking large round climate control air vents at each end of the dashboard blend harmoniously into the glass surface. As part of the ambient lighting system, these illuminate in a variety of selectable colors in a night design. The galvanized air vents combine a solid metal look with a sophisticated high-tech aesthetic, creating a skillful connection between digital and analog worlds.

The unique center console design combines aesthetics and functionality. It echoes the driver-oriented angle of the central multimedia display and includes an armrest with a closed storage compartment and two charging pads for inductive fast charging of smartphones. Two illuminated cup holders are cleverly separated from the charging pads. The front part of the center console is characterized by a winglet that rises three-dimensionally and encompasses the housing for the central climate control air vent unit. With its simple nozzle design, this creates an exciting contrast to the two dominant outer vents on the dashboard.

Sporty front seats with pronounced lateral support

The newly developed front seats feature a sporty, expressive design and offer high lateral support for dynamic driving. The optional AMG Performance seats with integrated headrests are even sportier. Two backrest openings with galvanized inserts convey the maximum sportiness of the performance seat and highlight its lightweight construction.

Numerous independent equipment concepts with exclusive, carefully selected color combinations and trim elements offer a high level of personalization to meet even the highest demands of customers. The large selection of interior upholstery choices reflects the entire spectrum of styles – from performance-focused to comfort-oriented.

The Mercedes‑AMG GT 4‑Door Coupe continues the tradition of customization with the MANUFAKTUR Exclusive program. The program offers customers a unique world of colors, materials and handcrafted surfaces.

Rear seat comfort

The rear seat is designed with comfortable, contoured individual seats for two passengers as standard. Two recesses in the floor create generous legroom and allow for a naturally comfortable knee angle. Rear seat passengers also enjoy a comfortable upright seating position and ample headroom. An optional three-passenger rear seat is also available. Both rear seat designs include backrests that can be folded down separately.

Panoramic glass roof: Available SKY CONTROL with spectacular AMG lighting

The standard one-piece panoramic glass roof contributes to the spacious feeling of the interior – a window to the sky. The generous glass surface extends to the rear windshield and depending on the vehicle’s equipment, can be switched between transparent and opaque. With available SKY CONTROL, the panoramic roof is divided into individually switchable segments to allow customers the flexibility to choose how much sunlight comes into the interior.

At night, the panoramic glass roof can be transformed into a sparkling canvas with an available unique lighting display. Illuminated AMG emblems above the driver and front passenger’s heads and motorsport-inspired racing stripes across the entire roof surface shine in colors that match the interior ambient lighting.

The glass surface of the panoramic roof is made of heat-insulating laminated safety glass as standard, with an infrared-reflective coating and an ultra-thin low-emissivity (LowE) coating on the inside. This helps reduce interior temperatures in the summer. In cold weather, the LowE coating reduces heat loss by reflecting the interior heat back into the cabin.

Elegant door design in the interior

With free-floating armrests, the door panels are a clean, elegant design. The most important functions of the door interior controls and power windows are integrated into the sculpted design of the door pull. The door center panel, with its flowing diamond quilting, takes inspiration from the world of historic motorsport. The seat adjustment control, designed to mimic the shape of a seat, is ergonomically positioned within the diamond quilting and above the armrest. With their horizontal line structure, the speaker covers blend perfectly into the harmonious design and are crafted to the same high standard of quality and precision. With the Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System, these feature a striking stainless steel finish.

MBUX infotainment system: Intelligent and intuitive

The user interfaces and state-of-the-art Mercedes‑Benz User Experience (MBUX) in the Mercedes‑AMG GT 4-Door Coupe are intuitive to use. These are based on the new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). This deeply integrated software-to-cloud architecture intelligently networks and controls all control units and functions.

Newly developed display styles provide a personalized driving experience. The “AMG Special” style offers four different sub-screens. The “AMG TRACK PACE” display style shows telemetry data, acceleration values or race data depending on the situation. The selection is complemented by the timeless “Classic” display style with various submenus such as efficiency or navigation.
