  • Kia holds EV6 pricing flat for 2027, with the entry Light SR RWD starting at $37,900 before a $1,545 destination fee.
  • All seven EV6 trims carry the same MSRP as last year, topping out at $53,000 for the GT-Line AWD.
  • The EV6 is built in West Point, Georgia, and competes against the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Chevrolet Equinox EV.

A Rare Price Freeze in a Market That Keeps Moving

Kia America has set pricing for the 2027 EV6, and the biggest number in the release is the one that didn’t change. Every trim in the lineup carries the same MSRP it did for 2026, with the base Light SR RWD still starting at $37,900 before a $1,545 destination charge. In a segment where automakers routinely nudge prices up each model year, Kia chose to leave the sticker alone.

Seven Trims, One Unchanged Price List

The EV6 lineup spans seven distinct configurations, each priced to sit against a specific rival. The entry-level Light SR RWD opens at $37,900, with the Light LR RWD stepping up to $41,200 for a larger battery pack. Buyers who want all-wheel drive on that long-range pack pay $45,200 for the Light LR AWD.

The Wind trim adds equipment rather than just range: the Wind RWD runs $44,800, and the Wind AWD climbs to $48,800. At the top of the range, the GT-Line brings sportier styling and a longer features list, priced at $48,700 for rear-wheel drive and $53,000 for all-wheel drive. None of those figures include the $1,545 destination fee, and Kia notes that actual transaction prices still depend on the dealer.

That spread puts the EV6 in direct competition with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which shares underlying EV architecture with the Kia, plus the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Chevrolet Equinox EV. Kia’s decision to hold the line on price gives shoppers comparing all four a reason to look twice at the EV6 specifically: a flat year-over-year MSRP is rare in a segment where battery and parts costs usually push prices higher.

Built in Georgia, Competing Nationwide

Kia assembles the EV6 at its West Point, Georgia plant, the same facility that builds the EV9 three-row SUV and several of the brand’s gasoline and hybrid models. Kia America says the EV6, EV9, Sportage (excluding the plug-in hybrid), Sorento (excluding hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions) and Telluride all come off the same U.S. production lines, built from a mix of domestic and globally sourced parts.

Where a vehicle is built and where its components come from can affect which federal and state EV incentive programs apply. Kia hasn’t attached any new incentive language to this pricing announcement, so shoppers should check current eligibility directly with a dealer or Kia’s own site before assuming a credit applies.

The three-tier naming convention, Light, Wind and GT-Line, maps roughly to how most EV shoppers browse. Light trims are built around value and usable range rather than extra equipment, Wind adds comfort and convenience features on top, and GT-Line brings sportier exterior styling along with the longest options list and the highest price ceiling. Having both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of each tier means a buyer who wants GT-Line styling but doesn’t need AWD can still save more than $4,000 by sticking with the RWD version.

What Carries Over for 2027

Kia didn’t revise the EV6’s range or charging figures for 2027; the automaker’s release describes the model as carrying over from last year, with the same all-electric range, fast-charging capability and driver assistance technology across the lineup. That means buyers comparing the window-sticker numbers for 2026 and 2027 models will find them identical, trim for trim.

Kia frames the unchanged pricing alongside the arrival of the smaller EV3 all-electric SUV, positioning the two models together as part of a push to make battery-electric ownership more attainable across the brand’s range rather than concentrated in one flagship model.

Why Kia Is Holding the Line on Price

Automakers rarely explain a pricing decision beyond the press release itself, and Kia’s reasoning here comes down to a single sentence: the company says it remains “committed to providing value to consumers.” Whatever the internal calculation, the practical effect for shoppers is simple to describe. Anyone cross-shopping the EV6 against the Ioniq 5 or Mustang Mach-E now has a fixed, unchanged reference point for 2027, with seven trims spanning roughly $37,900 to $53,000 before destination and any applicable incentives.

Kia says full specifications, including fuel economy figures and feature breakdowns for each 2027 EV6 trim, are available through its dealer network and media site. The automaker’s nearly 800 U.S. dealers carry the EV6 alongside gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, giving buyers who aren’t ready to go fully electric a side-by-side comparison under the same roof.

For shoppers actually cross-referencing numbers at a dealership, the practical takeaway is simple: last year’s EV6 price list and this year’s are the same document. Anyone who priced an EV6 in 2026 and walked away can pick the conversation back up in 2027 without recalculating the budget, which isn’t something every EV buyer can say about the model they were considering.
