A premier and super comfortable sedan, Lexus has positioned itself for years as a dependable choice for consumers in India who seek comfort in a car.

Created by Japan, loved by India, and recognized globally as the redoubtable standard of luxury and smartness, Lexus is all this and more.

It comes as no surprise that the Japanese luxury carmaker recently experienced a ten percent (10%) increase in sales figures during September in India compared to the same period last year, September 2023. This, in itself, is no small achievement.

Furthermore, Lexus reported an 8 percent rise in sales growth in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25, pointing to a further ascendancy of the brand in the country.

What has played well into the hands of the popular car brand is the fact that its “Made in India” ES model continues to remain the brand’s top contributor towards all cars sold under the Lexus brand in India.

This is no mean feat. As a super successful car name, the ES model accounts for no fewer than 52 percent of the overall sales of the Lexus brand in India. How’s that for success?

Let’s delve into more insights about the recently announced luxury plus edition of the Lexus ES. The vehicle comes with an 8-year warranty, which is expected to further positively impact sales figures.

As of September 2024, there has been a surge in demand for SUVs, which, in conjunction with industrial growth, augurs well for noted car manufacturers such as Toyota. When it comes to other models from the Japanese stable, it has been noted that the likes of NX and RX have contributed to sales growth of up to 23 percent in the past year (considering September 2023-September 2024).

Insights on Lexus’s success as per the VP, India

Encouraged by the sales performance, Mr. Tanmay Bhattacharya, the Executive Vice President of Lexus India, offered some heartening observations:

“Our quarter-on-quarter sales growth underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional products and experiences to all our guests. As we enter the festive season, we are excited to build on this momentum and anticipate even greater enthusiasm from our guests. To enhance their experience, Lexus India is extending festive benefits, making this a promising and exciting time for the brand.”

Truth be told, the hallmark Japanese offering in the space of luxury and comfort has always placed the philosophy of guest care and deep respect on the highest possible pedestal. That is something that hasn’t changed in all these seven years of Lexus’s presence in India.

What further heightens the luxe factor about the carmaker’s offerings in Asia is another high-quality factory body coating, which was introduced a couple of months earlier in August 2024.
