Ferrari opens a Diagnostic Centre for its employees and the community
Ferrari has opened a new Diagnostics Centre in Maranello, designed to provide preventive care and advanced diagnostic services to both its employees and the local community. The centre, which is managed by Med-Ex, Ferrari’s long-standing medical partner, uses the latest technologies, including equipment made by Philips, a world leader in medical innovation.
The new Diagnostic Centre sets a record in Italy: it is the first time that a company outside of the medical sector has created a facility of this level, working in collaboration with the relevant public institutions. A fruitful collaboration with regional and local authorities has found fertile ground for developing concrete, local initiatives that benefit the area and the community.
The initiative was presented today by Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, Royal Philips CEO Roy Jakobs, and the General Manager of the Modena Local Health Authority Mattia Altini, with Emilia-Romagna Regional President Michele de Pascale, Maranello Mayor Luigi Zironi and Med-Ex founder and CEO Fred Fernando also in attendance.

Screening and prevention for the community
In the coming days, a three-year agreement will be signed with the Local Health Authority of Modena, in order to offer mammography breast screening at the centre to women living in the towns of Maranello, Formigine and Fiorano, with a view to strengthening cancer prevention measures in the area. According to the regional programme, approximately 8,300 examinations are planned, with reports to be provided by Local Health Authority specialists.
The centre is also applying to become an epidemiological study hub, courtesy of the data pooling activities performed by Med-Ex, and will offer remote analysis of clinical documentation (second opinions) in collaboration with the most highly-accredited public health centres in Italy.
A shared value model
Ferrari will not make any profits from the centre – further testament to its desire to feed value back into the area and promote the growth of local skills. Indeed, Ferrari’s share of the profits generated by this activity will be reinvested in training for medical and technical staff, as well as in scholarships for young medical professionals.
Cutting-edge technology for health
The centre is equipped with the most cutting-edge equipment, from software with integrated AI features, including a Total Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine, a Spectral Computed Tomography machine, a Mammography machine with Tomosynthesis, a Digital Radiography machine with smart collimation, and a DEXA Bone Densitometer. Every piece of equipment ensures the highest quality and performance standards, delivering faster, more precise and more reliable diagnoses.
An integrated system for employee wellbeing
The Diagnostic Centre supports and confirms Ferrari’s traditional focus on people and their health. This can be seen, for example, in Formula Benessere, the Prancing Horse’s long-standing welfare programme: since 2024, this has included a comprehensive annual check-up (provided to over 4,000 employees in 2025), and Formula Benessere Junior, which offers medical care to the children of Ferrari employees (over 1,000 consultations in 2025). As of today, with the inauguration of the new facility, the range of specialist consultations available to Ferrari employees will provide them with an unprecedented level of comprehensive health care.
“The Diagnostic Centre is a concrete example of co-prosperity: it unites skills, resources, and innovation in order to generate and share value among companies, institutions and our communities. We built the facility in record time – under two months – with various companies working in close collaboration, alongside the public and private sectors”, declared Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari. “The new centre represents an initiative created for people and thanks to people, which has taught us many important lessons. For this reason, I like to remember that it’s not so much the goal of a project that matters, but rather what one becomes in the process of achieving it.”
Roy Jakobs, CEO of Philips, commented: “Ferrari is synonymous with speed, precision and performance, values that Philips also fully embraces. This initiative demonstrates how the combination of our leadership in innovation, our well-established ability to execute projects and our people-centric approach can accelerate progress in the field of healthcare, improving prevention, enabling earlier diagnosis and expanding access to high-quality care. Together, we transform our visions into concrete actions, benefiting local communities and offering improved care to an ever-increasing number of people.
Michele de Pascale, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region: “We would like to thank Ferrari for choosing to continue collaborating with our region and our public system, investing its own resources in a new facility that will serve not only the company’s employees, but the entire community. This is yet another example of how institutions and private entities in Emilia-Romagna know how to work together to serve citizens. For the Emilia-Romagna Region, protecting the right to healthcare and prevention will increasingly be a priority, guiding all our policies in the health and social sectors and beyond. Any organisation wishing to accompany us on this path will find us ready to collaborate in a fruitful and proactive manner.”
“Today, a new public health infrastructure is coming to life, with a very concrete goal: to bring high-quality prevention closer to the people. This public-private partnership supports the public system, due to the fact that it covers significant costs, allowing resources to be reinvested in innovation, services and in remaining competitive,” stated Mattia Altini, General Manager of the Modena Local Health Authority. “This is exactly the kind of partnership that the healthcare system needs: transparent, focused on the common good, and with measurable results.”
