2024 Porsche Panamera teased, unveiling due this November

The new Porsche Panamera will be revealed in little more than two months, likely becoming the last petrol-powered generation of the nameplate before it goes electric-only.

German car-maker Porsche has announced the new-generation 2024 Porsche Panamera sedan will be unveiled in late November 2023.

The third-generation Panamera will be the model’s first new generation since 2016, coming 15 years after the first iteration of Porsche’s four-door sports sedan car debuted in 2009.

It is also expected to be the final Porsche sedan available with petrol power, as its successor will reportedly go solely electric – though not as a direct replacement for the battery-powered Taycan.

As recently reported in UK publication Autocar – by Drive contributor Greg Kable – the new Panamera will be offered with a choice of turbocharged V6 and V8 engines, with Porsche now confirming up to four plug-in hybrid variants are planned to go on sale overseas.

According to Porsche, its new-generation hybrid system is capable of delivering up to 70 per cent more driving range on electric-only power compared to its predecessor, due in part to a larger 25.9kWh battery – up from the current model’s 17.9kWh pack.

The Panamera hybrid’s electric motor is also more powerful, capable of generating up to 140kW in the flagship Turbo E-Hybrid variant.

Additionally, the electric motor in all Panamera hybrid grades is now integrated within the dual-clutch automatic transmission, rather than mated to the side of the gearbox.

The new Porsche Panamera is also fitted with new two-valve shock absorbers as standard, which allow its compression (or bump) and rebound to be controlled independently of each other.

Certain Panamera variants will available with an adaptive damper control system as an option, while Porsche claims there will be a “wide range of additional functions” to sharpen the car’s handling.

Porsche is due to reveal the new Panamera on 24 November 2023 in Dubai, with overseas deliveries expected to begin in 2024.

Australian timing and pricing will be announced closer to the Porsche Panamera’s unveiling.
