Skoda Australia has announced it’s reintroducing certain features across its range that it had removed due to semiconductor shortages.

The changes apply across most of the brand’s passenger car and SUV ranges, with the updated models available from the fourth quarter of 2023.

The company hasn’t detailed any pricing changes as yet.

Skoda will now offer blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard across its entire vehicle line-up.

The company removed these features due to semi-conductor shortages last year.

Skoda hasn’t made any changes to features available in the Fabia and Superb.

Kamiq

The Kamiq will now feature a power tailgate as standard.

Skoda will offer a premium sound system for customers who opt for the Travel Pack with the Monte Carlo trim.

Karoq

The slightly larger Karoq sees changes to its Style variant.

Skoda now offers a new Leather Seats Pack which features black or ivory Comfort leather seats with power adjustment and memory, auto-dimming folding exterior mirrors, ambient lighting, front and rear LED reading lights, and interior footwell lighting.

Kodiaq

Skoda’s largest SUV, the Kodiaq, will receive auto-dimming side mirrors and power child locks.

Skoda will offer a Canton premium audio system as standard on the Kodiaq RS and as an option on the Style and Sportline models.

Scala

Skoda has reintroduced a power tailgate as standard on the flagship Scala Signature trim, which was previously an option.

Octavia

The brand’s best selling wagon now features power child locks, an auto-dimming rear view mirror and side mirrors on the Octavia Style and flagship RS trim lines.

Customers will now receive a Canton premium audio system when opting for the Premium pack on the RS model.

On the Style, Skoda has consolidated the Tech Pack and Luxury Pack, introducing a Tech and Luxury Pack which offers everything the two separate packs offered except for a head-up display and Dynamic Chassis Control.

In 2022 Skoda sold 6501 vehicles in Australia, down 29.2 per cent YoY as it dealt with supply issues.

In the first six months of this year, however, Skoda has sold 3967 vehicles – a 20.7 per cent increase over the same period in 2022.

Skoda has sold 984 examples of the Kamiq, followed by the Karoq (802), Octavia (740) and Kodiaq (767).
