The Porsche 911 GTS has been chosen as Best Performance Car in MotorWeek’s annual Drivers’ Choice Awards. Bringing home a second award for Porsche, the Taycan was selected as Best EV in this year’s judging. To be considered for an award, all vehicles must first go through MotorWeek’s testing process and the potential candidates must excel in multiple subjective and objective elements within its respective segment.

“No other car we tested this year, regardless of price, did a better job of combining the sheer joy of driving with new technology” said creator and host of MotorWeek, John Davis of the 532 hp 911 Carrera GTS, which introduced the T-Hybrid system to the 911 model range for the first time. “It’s a prime example of Porsche finding innovative ways to deliver their signature fantastic driving experience.”

Turning to the Taycan, Davis added: “Simply put, the Taycan is one of the most impressive EVs we’ve ever driven. In addition, Porsche made big updates to both the Sedan and Cross Turismo variants this year: more range, more power, more tech, and more sheer fun than ever. Having an advanced EV and a Porsche, too, is one duet that is hard to resist.”

“Thank you to John Davis and the team at Motorweek” said Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “Securing two awards for Porsche models with very different powertrains shows our commitment to choice, and also that a true Porsche can shine no matter what is powering it underneath.”
