Jaguar Type 00 has made its debut in Asia with a creative collaboration with renowned Tokyo-based artist and art director YOSHIROTTEN, bringing to life an immersive visual installation at Warehouse Terrada G3-6F.

Type 00 premiered to the world at Miami Art Week at the end of last year and has since made headlines with appearances in the streets of Paris and on an ocean terrace in Monaco. Built on embracing the unexpected, original thinking and fearless creativity, Type 00 previews what is to come from Jaguar as it recaptures the original ‘Copy Nothing’ ethos of Jaguar’s founder, Sir William Lyons.

Rawdon Glover, Managing Director of Jaguar, said: “The debut of Jaguar Type 00 in Tokyo demonstrates our commitment to the Asian region, with Japan having long been a key market for Jaguar. Our valued clients here appreciate luxury and exclusivity; they are independent thinkers who understand great design and will buy a Jaguar because they feel an emotional connection to the brand and its products.’’

Uniting Jaguar’s bold, modernist brand spirit with YOSHIROTTEN’s fearless visual universe has culminated in a unique immersive installation open to the public on Sunday 18th May (13:00 – 16:00).

Titled “Tokyo Future 00,” the installation focuses on the rejection of imitation and embracing creative defiance. Visitors will be drawn into an electrifying display of light, colour, and sound harmonies, where striking animations and vivid colour projections bring Jaguar’s signature strikethrough motif to life in a conceptual, evolving form. These projections are mapped throughout the space, refracting through the structure and Type 00, creating a sensory spectacle that invites guests into a new palette of colours never seen before.

YOSHIROTTEN has also collaborated with renowned Japanese music producer, Chaki Zulu, who has composed a unique soundscape to complement and heighten the sensorial experience in the space.

YOSHIROTTEN said, “From the moment I saw Type 00 in Miami, I was captivated by the attention to detail, its beautiful form and vibrant colours. Jaguar’s desire to create something completely new as opposed to something familiar resonates with me. With this installation I wanted to create a space in which the vibrant lights of Tokyo interplay with the bold forms of the car, and interact with the iconography on the car, like the brass leaper and ‘strikethrough’ horizontal lines.”

YOSHIROTTEN, celebrated for his expansive and multi-disciplinary approach to design, brings his distinct energy to this collaboration. His work spans graphics, moving images, 3D creations, installations and music, captivating audiences worldwide. His portfolio includes solo exhibitions in London and Berlin, as well as his massive 2018 Tokyo exhibition, “FUTURE NATURE.” In 2021, he began work on the SUN series. Centred around 365 digital images depicting a silver sun, the series expanded into a large-scale body of work across various media, exhibited in cities. More recently, he held his first solo exhibition at a public art museum, titled FUTURE NATURE II in Kagoshima.
