Mexico has a rich history in Formula 1, with a handful of talented drivers making their mark on the sport over the years. From the legendary Rodríguez brothers to the current star Sergio Perez, these drivers have showcased their skills on the world stage and left a lasting impact on Mexican motorsport. Here, we count down the top five Mexican F1 drivers of all time, celebrating their achievements and contributions to the sport.

Five – Esteban Gutierrez – Esteban Gutierrez raced in F1 from 2013 to 2016, scoring six points across his career. His best result was 7th place at the 2013 Japanese GP while racing for Sauber.
Four – Héctor Rebaque – Héctor Rebaque participated in 41 F1 races between 1977 and 1981, with a best finish of 4th at the 1981 Brazilian GP. He remains the only Mexican driver to have raced for Ferrari, albeit in a non-works team.
Three – Ricardo Rodriguez – The younger brother of Pedro, Ricardo Rodríguez showed immense promise in his short F1 career, achieving a podium finish in his first World Championship race at the 1961 Belgian GP. Tragically, he lost his life in a practice accident at the 1962 Mexican GP at just 20 years old.
Two – Sergio Perez – Currently racing for Red Bull Racing, Sergio Perez is Mexico’s most successful F1 driver in terms of podiums and points. With multiple race wins and consistent performances, Perez has established himself as one of the most consistent drivers on the grid.
One – Pedro Rodriguez – Pedro Rodríguez is widely regarded as Mexico’s greatest F1 driver, winning two Grands Prix and achieving seven podiums in his career. He was the first Mexican to win a Grand Prix when he triumphed at the 1967 South African GP, and his talent extended to sports car racing, where he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and Daytona 24 Hours.
