Subaru has confirmed pricing for the 2027 BRZ, and the rear-wheel-drive sports car arrives this fall starting at $36,140. The lineup carries over the two familiar trims, Limited and tS, and keeps the part that enthusiasts care about most: a six-speed manual transmission as standard on every car.

The bigger change for 2027 is on the safety side. For the first time, Subaru fits its latest EyeSight driver assist system to every BRZ, including the manual models that have traditionally gone without it. That gives buyers the choice between a stick shift and a full suite of crash-avoidance features, a combination that has been rare in affordable sports cars.

What the 2027 Subaru BRZ Costs

Pricing for the 2027 BRZ breaks down across the two trims and the optional automatic transmission as follows:

  • BRZ Limited, six-speed manual: $36,140
  • BRZ Limited, six-speed automatic: $36,990
  • BRZ tS, six-speed manual: $38,770

A destination and delivery charge of $1,245 applies to most states, with some variation in Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. Buyers in Alaska pay $1,395. The car is assembled in Gunma, Japan, and reaches retailers later this year.

A Manual Sports Car With Safety Tech for Everyone

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter Subaru Boxer engine producing 228 horsepower, sent to the rear wheels for the classic sports car feel the BRZ is known for. The six-speed manual is standard and pairs with a Torsen limited-slip differential to put the power down cleanly out of corners. A six-speed automatic with steering-wheel paddle shifters is optional on the Limited for drivers who prefer to leave the shifting to the car.

The headline update is EyeSight on every model. The latest version adds a new wide-angle mono camera with a larger field of vision and brings adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning, lead vehicle start alert, and blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert. Rear automatic braking is standard on cars fitted with the automatic, and the tS adds rear parking sensors to make tight spaces easier. Fitting this kit to a manual driver’s car is the kind of move rival coupes have been slow to make, and it means buyers no longer have to give up safety features to row their own gears.

2027 Subaru BRZ tS with Brembo brakes and STI-tuned dampers

Limited and tS Trims Explained

The BRZ Limited comes well equipped at $36,140. Standard features include 18-inch matte gray alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires, the Torsen limited-slip rear differential, keyless access with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED steering-responsive headlights and taillights, heated power mirrors and a dedicated Sport mode for sharper throttle response. Inside, the Limited uses black Ultrasuede with red leather accents and an 8.0-inch Multimedia Plus system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Stepping up to the $38,770 tS brings the hardware that hard drivers will want. It returns with STI-tuned Hitachi dampers and a Brembo braking system, with gold-painted four-piston front and two-piston rear calipers, larger rotors and pads for a firmer, more consistent pedal. The tS also adds red BRZ badging on the headlights, tS badging on the grille and trunk, Crystal Black Silica mirror caps, blue interior accents, an STI-branded start button and a digital gauge cluster with cherry red accents that greets the driver with an STI welcome screen.

How the BRZ Fits the Affordable Sports Car Market

The BRZ sits in a small and shrinking group of affordable rear-drive sports cars. Its closest relative is the 2027 Toyota GR86, the mechanical twin built alongside it, while the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the pricier Nissan Z give buyers other rear-drive options. Against that field, the BRZ leans on its standard manual, its limited-slip differential and now a full safety suite to stand apart.

For shoppers who still want three pedals, the 2027 BRZ makes a clear case. Standard EyeSight removes one of the few practical knocks against buying the manual, and the carryover Sport mode and retuned electric power steering keep the driving experience the priority. Drivers who want a manual but at a higher price point can look at cars like the BMW M3 CS Handschalter, but few new cars deliver a stick shift and rear-wheel drive for around $36,000. With deliveries due this fall, Subaru has kept the BRZ formula intact while quietly making it easier to live with.
