- Jeep adds a new entry-level Sport S trim to the 2027 Gladiator lineup, standard with a 7-inch TFT cluster, passive entry and all-terrain tires.
- A limited-production 35-Inch Tire Launch Edition brings factory-installed 35-inch tires, bronze beadlock wheels and a 1-inch suspension lift to Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X models.
- Rubicon and Mojave trims gain heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a built-in GPS system as standard equipment for 2027.
The Factory Finally Builds What Owners Were Already Doing Themselves
Jeep has updated the 2027 Gladiator with a new entry-level trim, a round of standard feature upgrades spread across the lineup, and a limited-production model that puts the midsize pickup’s most popular aftermarket modification straight on the factory order sheet. The changes land across every Gladiator trim level, from the new Sport S to the off-road-focused Rubicon X.
A New Entry Point: Sport S
The Sport S joins the Gladiator lineup as a new base-level trim, and Jeep hasn’t left it bare. It comes standard with a 7-inch TFT color instrument cluster, passive entry, all-terrain tires and 17-inch machined aluminum wheels. That’s a far better-equipped starting point than Gladiator shoppers have had in recent years, giving buyers who want the Gladiator’s open-air pickup format without paying for Rubicon-level off-road hardware a more complete truck from the factory.
Further up the range, the Sahara trim now comes standard with a vented power dome hood and side steps. An available 20-inch premium wheel package adds machined wheels with all-terrain tires, heavy-duty Dana 44 axles and a Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential. Jeep also carries over the Gladiator Altitude, built on the Sport S, with black 20-inch wheels, wide-track Dana 44 axles, Trac-Lok and dark exterior accents, plus the High Altitude package on Sahara with machined wheels, Nappa leather seats and body-color exterior trim.
The 35-Inch Tire Launch Edition
Jeep says 35-inch tires are one of the most common modifications Gladiator owners make after driving their truck off the lot, so the brand built a limited-production model that does the work at the factory instead. The 2027 Gladiator 35-inch Tire Launch Edition is available across Willys, Rubicon and Rubicon X models and pairs factory-installed 35-inch all-terrain tires with bronze-painted, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels.
The package isn’t just tires and wheels. It includes a 1-inch factory suspension lift, a 4.56 final-drive ratio, heavy-duty Dana axles and performance brakes, along with highline fender flares and wheel-flare extensions to clear the larger rubber. Jeep lists 12.9 inches of ground clearance and approach, breakover and departure angles of 46.7, 23.3 and 26.7 degrees. Rubicon and Rubicon X versions add extra hood and vent graphics, with the Rubicon X package getting an exclusive side-door graphic and a performance hood with its own decal. Jeep brand CEO Branden Coté said the package gives customers “the capability, confidence and distinctive look they want straight from the factory,” language that reflects how directly Jeep built this edition around a modification its own owners were already making.
Buyers who want one should move quickly. Jeep describes the Launch Edition as a limited production run, available to order now in North America, with no stated end date for ordering beyond that limited volume.
Heated Seats and Nav Move Down the Lineup
Jeep spread feature upgrades across several trims rather than reserving them for the top of the range. Rubicon and Mojave models now get standard body-color fender flares, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a built-in GPS system, all without stepping up to a higher package. Rubicon X and Mojave X buyers get a standard cargo management group that includes a 115-volt bed power outlet, a roll-up tonneau cover, a lockable and removable rear underseat storage bin and the bed-mounted Trail Rail System for securing gear.
Jeep also simplified the roof situation across the lineup. Willys and Rubicon now include a standard black hardtop, while Mojave includes a standard body-color hardtop, removing what used to be a common upcharge on those trims. For buyers who want factory Mopar accessories rather than building a Mojave themselves, the Jeep Performance Parts Mojave adds a triple-hoop grille guard, hood graphics, a black grille, a cold-air intake, all-weather floor mats, an 83-piece tool kit and Camel Katzkin leather seats with Terracotta stitching.
Capability Numbers That Carry the Brand
Every 2027 Gladiator runs the same 3.6-liter V-6, rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic. Jeep carries over the Gladiator’s towing and payload figures unchanged: up to 7,700 pounds of max towing and up to 1,720 pounds of max payload, numbers that remain among the highest in the midsize pickup class. Off-road, buyers choose from four 4×4 systems: Command-Trac, part-time and full-time Rock-Trac, and full-time Selec-Trac, with a maximum crawl ratio of 86:1 on the right combination and up to 34 inches of water fording.
Jeep builds the 2027 Gladiator at its Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio, and the full lineup, from the new Sport S through Willys, Sahara, Mojave, Mojave X, Rubicon and Rubicon X, is available to order now. Neither release attaches pricing to the individual trims or the Launch Edition package; Jeep directs buyers to the Gladiator newsroom and local dealers for current figures.
