Helmet recommended: Italian design firm Pininfarina has revealed an electric hypercar that can exceed 300km/h – and has no windscreen.

The car-making spin-off of Italian design firm Pininfarina – which has styled a fleet of iconic models from Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Lancia and more –has unveiled a new electric hypercar with a multimillion-dollar price and no windscreen.

The B95 is named after the ‘Barchetta’ body design, and the 95th anniversary Pininfarina will celebrate in 2025, when the car is due to begin production.

It is one of the first electric cars in the class of ultra-exclusive, multimillion-dollar supercars known as ‘speedsters’, with two seats and no roof, windscreen or rear window.

Derived from the hard-top Pininfarina Battista, the B95 is powered by the same 120kWh battery and four electric motors developing 1397kW and 2340Nm

The power – nearly double the output of the original Bugatti Veyron’s quad-turbo 16-cylinder petrol engine – allows for a 0-100km/h sprint time of two seconds, and a top speed exceeding 300km/h.

The B95 show car has a two-tone paint finish – a blend of metallic ‘Bronzo Superga’ and ‘Giallo Arneis’ – with the number ’95’ painted in gloss black on the bodywork behind the driver.

The hypercar rides on a bespoke set of forged aluminium wheels, with larger 21-inch wheels complementing the 20-inch units at the front.

Inside, the carbon-fibre dashboard features beside tan-coloured leather and ‘Pied de Poule Houndstooth’ textile upholstery, adorned with bespoke B95 embossing.

Only 10 examples of the Pininfarina B95 are planned to be produced, at €4.4 million ($AU7.4 million) each.

Each of the ten B95 vehicles will be customised to the owner’s preferences.
