A video of a crash-tested Tesla Cybertruck has surfaced online as deliveries of the electric pickup near.

The original video was posted to Tik Tok by CTL Logistics but subsequently deleted. It was later reshared on YouTube by user Plaided.

The crashed Cybertruck is on the back of a truck and has a sticker on the side with ‘ditch rollover’ on it.

Although we don’t get to see the actual crash test being conducted, the wedge-shaped Cybertruck’s airbags have deployed and there is visible exterior damage.

We also get a look at the Cybertruck’s second-row setup that includes a central screen like the Model 3 just received with its recent update. There’s also a fold-down centre armrest with two octagonal cupholders.

A previously spied Cybertruck has shown it has an octagonal steering wheel, large central touchscreen, as well as ambient interior lighting.

There’s also a glimpse at the Cybertruck’s tub in this latest video that reveals it’s housing a large array of plastic trim pieces that could have detached from the vehicle during the crash test.

Tesla has previously shared a teaser video that showed the Cybertruck barrelling towards a crash test wall before cutting off right before the moment of impact.

The original Tesla Cybertruck concept was first revealed in 2019, though the first production example didn’t roll off the line at the company’s Texas plant until July this year.

Tesla has previously said it plans to commence customer deliveries in the third quarter of this year before ramping up to full-scale production in 2024.

Electrek reports the first examples are expected to go to employees.

The news outlet reports it expects Tesla to reveal pricing and full specifications at its official first delivery handover event.

US customers have been able to pre-order the electric pickup for quite some time.

Tesla claims the electric ute will boast up to 804km of range and be able to achieve a 0-60mph (0-96km/h) time of 2.9 seconds.

According to the carmaker’s US website, the Cybertruck will feature a 1587kg payload, towing capacity of over 6300kg, and 2831 litres of storage space spread out through the ute’s tub, interior and frunk.

The latter appears to offer customers less space than the Ford F-150 LightningChevrolet Silverado EVGMC Hummer EV, and Rivian R1T.

It’s unclear what the frunk space for the ute will be, however the Cybertruck’s tub is expected to measure around 2.0 metres long.

Due to repeated delays, the Cybertruck is now going on sale after rivals like the R1T and F-150 Lightning.
