New reports and videos out of China have shared fresh details on the upcoming facelift for the Tesla Model 3 electric car, ahead of its showroom arrival later this year.

The facelifted 2024 Tesla Model 3 electric car will adopt new seats as part of its overhauled interior, a new leaked video appears to confirm.

Footage published to Chinese social-media channels (via Twitter user @JayinShanghai) show a new front-seat design reportedly planned for the Model 3, with perforations for what is believed to be the first time.

Previous reports have claimed the new seat has been designed by an external supplier – rather than developed in house by Tesla, as with the front seats in the current model.

A shot of the components under the seat has sparked speculation the updated Model 3 will introduce ventilated front seats for the first time, in addition to the heating function currently available.

According to the latest reports out of China, the new model may also be set to adopt ambient lighting inside its cabin – as seen in most modern luxury cars – as well as an upgraded sound system.

The footage of the seats in the facelifted Tesla Model 3 – known internally as the ‘Highland’ – is the latest in a string of leaked images, videos and spy photos of the highly-anticipated electric car, which is reportedly due to commence production in the coming months.

Exterior changes are set to focus on a restyled front end, leaked photos have shown, with slimmer Roadster-inspired LED headlights and a simpler front bumper without fog lights.

Spy photos have shown new alloy wheel designs, a restyled rear bumper and tail-lights, and an upgraded suite of driver-assistance cameras – including larger modules on the front wheel arches.

Inside, there is expected to be a new steering wheel similar to the Semi truck – and the deletion of the gear selector stalk, with its functions to instead be moved to a slider on the large central touchscreen.

A new synthetic trim material is expected to feature across the dashboard to replace the faux wood-look inlays standard on the current Model 3.

“Trial production” of late-stage 2024 Tesla Model 3 facelift prototypes has already begun, according to overseas reports, ahead of the first customer vehicles rolling off the assembly line in the coming months.
