  • Nissan quotes EPA-estimated fuel economy of 41 mpg city, 36 highway and 38 combined for the SR, and lists a starting MSRP of $35,490 for the SV.
  • Every Rogue Hybrid carries ProPILOT Assist, and the hands-off traffic jam version is available on the SR and standard on the Platinum, with limits Nissan spells out.

Which Rogue Hybrid You Can Buy This Month and What Has to Wait Until 2027

Nissan starts delivering the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid to dealerships this week, and the first version in showrooms is a single configuration: the all-wheel drive SR with the SR Technology Package. Nissan expects that SR in limited quantities starting late November 2026. Nissan gives two timings, dealer arrival this week and limited inventory from late November, so call the dealer before you drive over. Nissan tells shoppers to contact a local dealer for inventory information.

The rest of the lineup follows. Nissan expects additional trims in January 2027 and describes the full SV, SR and Platinum range as available in early 2027. A shopper set on the SV, the grade that carries the $35,490 starting MSRP, waits until then.

The Rogue Hybrid also makes its public show debut at the 2026 Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs from November 20 to 29. Tiago Castro, senior vice president, U.S. Marketing & Sales, Nissan and INFINITI, said: “Rogue Hybrid is the next step in Nissan’s U.S. growth story. We set out to build the best hybrid to grow the brand, and Rogue Hybrid delivers with the efficiency, performance and refinement customers want.”

How e-POWER Drives Differently From a Conventional Hybrid

The Rogue Hybrid is the first U.S. vehicle to use Nissan’s e-POWER system. A gasoline engine in the Rogue Hybrid generates electricity and nothing else, and dual electric motors drive the wheels directly. Nissan describes a 5-in-1 design in which the dedicated engine shuts off entirely when the battery holds enough charge. With no transmission to shift, the car has no gear changes to feel on the way up to speed.

Nissan has built e-POWER over three generations and sold nearly 2 million e-POWER vehicles in 68 countries from 2016. Its engineers tuned this version for North American driving conditions, speeds, road surfaces and customer habits. Ponz Pandikuthira, senior vice president, chief product and planning officer, Nissan Americas, said: “Every part of Rogue Hybrid’s e‑POWER technology was designed around the customer, redefining the standard for hybrid compact SUVs.”

Nissan reports EPA-estimated fuel economy of 41 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 38 mpg combined for the Rogue Hybrid SR. The city number is 5 mpg above the highway number. A driver covering 12,000 miles a year, an illustrative figure, burns about 316 gallons at 38 mpg. Nissan adds that actual mileage varies with driving conditions and that the estimate is for comparison only. The figures belong to the SR. The EPA’s fueleconomy.gov database did not list the 2027 Rogue Hybrid on November 2, so the numbers rest on Nissan’s word until the agency posts them, and the SV and Platinum ratings are still to come.

Nissan also makes class claims. It calls the Rogue Hybrid the only hybrid in its class with a 100% electric drivetrain, and says it has the quickest and quietest acceleration in its class and the top 60-0 mph braking result. These are Nissan’s claims. The class is defined through AutoPacific segmentation of mainstream midsize crossover SUVs, based on manufacturers’ websites. Nissan cites AMCI Testing certified data for 0-60 mph and 40-70 mph passing distance in Sport Mode, compared with hybrid rivals. Nissan gives no competitor names or measured margins with these claims, so shoppers cannot check them yet.

Wards named e-POWER to its 2026 Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems list, voted by a panel of four judges. It is the 21st time a Nissan vehicle has made the annual list.

A Quieter Cabin and a Brake Pedal That Does Less Work

Nissan designed the cabin around low noise. Engineers placed sound-deadening materials in areas prone to road noise, such as the wheel wells, and shaped the exterior with concealed wipers, door-mounted side mirrors and slim roof rails to cut wind noise. The available ventilated front seats use a new design that reduces noise. Nissan says the Rogue Hybrid has more front head room than any hybrid in its class, another maker claim.

Derek Johnson, a research and development engineer at Nissan Technical Center North America in Farmington Hills, Mich., described the target: “One of our top priorities was creating a super comfortable driving environment, and that starts with a quiet cabin.” He added: “It’s easy to have a normal conversation with passengers in both rows, even on the interstate.”

Two features change how the car stops. Smooth Stop, which Nissan calls first in its class, automatically modulates brake pressure at the end of a stop, so the driver presses the brake pedal and holds it. Johnson said: “You’ll notice far less of that jerking motion you might be used to when coming to a stop.” The second feature, e-Pedal, lets the driver slow the car to a full stop by lifting off the accelerator. Nissan says no other vehicle in its class offers true one-pedal driving. Nissan’s own warning applies: e-Pedal can accelerate, decelerate and stop, and drivers should monitor traffic and use the conventional brake as needed to prevent collisions.

Inside, Nissan lists available dual 14.3-inch displays, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a standard Qi2 wireless charger that Nissan calls class-exclusive. The digital meter has new graphics.

ProPILOT Assist: What the Hands-Off Mode Does and Where It Stops

All 2027 Rogue Hybrid models include the latest generation of ProPILOT Assist, Nissan’s semi-autonomous driver assistance system. The standard system follows the flow of traffic and assists with steering while the driver keeps both hands on the wheel. Nissan fitted a front camera with a 20% wider field of view, and object detection distance is up to 33% farther. Nissan says that lets the system respond up to two seconds faster at 70 mph, and two seconds at that speed covers about 205 feet. Johnson said: “It speeds up and slows down more smoothly and stays more centered in the lane.”

ProPILOT Assist with Hands-Off Traffic Jam Support is available on the Rogue Hybrid SR and standard on the Platinum. Below 30 mph, it lets the driver drive hands-off, keeping the car in its lane and with traffic without a touch of the steering wheel, brake pedal or accelerator pedal. At highway speeds, a single tap of the turn signal starts an automatic lane change once the system detects space, with the driver’s hands on the wheel. Johnson said: “This is a huge help on road trips” for passing slower traffic. Nissan lists the hands-off option as available on the SR, so ask the dealer to confirm it is on the specific car with the Technology Package.

Nissan states the limits plainly. ProPILOT Assist cannot prevent collisions, and the driver is responsible for controlling the vehicle at all times. The system operates only when lane markings are detected and does not function in all weather, traffic and road conditions. It has limited control capability, so the driver has to be ready to steer, brake or accelerate at any time. Johnson said the system “also works on a wider variety of roads, so it’ll stay active in a greater range of conditions, like wider-than-usual lanes,” but the limits above still apply. Drivers comparing steering assistance across makers can read about VW Emergency Assist Plus, which steers an unresponsive driver to the shoulder.

What the Price Tells You So Far and What It Leaves Out

Nissan lists a starting MSRP of $35,490 for the SV grade. That MSRP excludes destination and handling charges, tax, title, license and options, and Nissan says the dealer sets the actual price. The $35,490 covers the SV only, so it is no guide to what the SR with the Technology Package, the trim reaching dealers first, will cost on the lot. Nissan’s launch announcements give no SR price and no destination charge.

Put three questions to the dealer: the SR price with destination, whether the hands-off ProPILOT option is on the car you want, and when the car is due. Shoppers cross-shopping hybrid SUVs can also read how Kia handled 2027 Kia Sorento Hybrid pricing and trims.

The Los Angeles Auto Show gives buyers a look at the Rogue Hybrid on November 20 to 29. Nissan expects the first SR cars in limited numbers from late November, and the SV decision waits for the January trims.
