2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition Debuts With 600 Horsepower

Dodge has revived one of its most famous nameplates, and this time the Super Bee carries more power than any version of the badge in its 58-year history. The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition packs a SAE-certified 600 horsepower from its twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, making it the most powerful Super Bee Dodge has ever built and the quickest production Charger to reach 60 mph.

The Super Bee slots above the 550-horsepower Charger Scat Pack in the SIXPACK-powered lineup, and Dodge says it will build the car in limited numbers at its Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario. Pricing has not been announced. Dodge says details on cost, ordering and availability will follow later this year, so buyers who want one should expect a wait before they can place an order.

What Makes 600 Horsepower Possible

The Super Bee’s power comes from a high-output version of Dodge’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK engine, fitted with larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers that push more than 30 psi of boost. Dodge quotes 600 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, a jump of 115 horsepower over the outgoing 2023 Super Bee and 50 horsepower more than the current Charger Scat Pack.

Dodge says the extra output cuts the 0-60 mph time to 3.6 seconds, nearly a full second quicker than the last Super Bee’s 4.5-second run, and drops the quarter-mile time to 11.8 seconds. Peak torque now arrives nearly 12 percent earlier in the rev range, at 3,000 rpm, and holds through 5,900 rpm.

Dodge reinforced the half-shafts by nearly 10 percent to handle the added strain, and retuned the software that controls throttle response, boost buildup and Launch Control. A returning feature called Torque Reserve builds boost before the car leaves the line by briefly delaying ignition timing, then releases full power the instant the driver lets off the brake.

Brakes, Wheels and Suspension Built for Track Use

Dodge fitted the Super Bee with 16-inch vented Brembo rotors at all four corners, its first application on a SIXPACK-powered Charger, paired with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. Dodge says the setup delivers three times more resistance to brake fade than any other SIXPACK Charger, aided by pads with 27 percent more surface area.

Wheels grow to 20-by-11 inches, wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires sized 305/35ZR20 on all four corners. A new adaptive damping suspension adjusts every 10 milliseconds to manage body motion, while stiffer suspension bushings and springs sharpen turn-in and reduce understeer. Drivers can flip between all-wheel drive and a dedicated rear-wheel-drive mode with a button on the steering wheel, useful for track days or simply breaking the tires loose.

The car also gets two new drive modes built specifically for competitive use. Track Mode tightens steering and suspension for road courses, while Drag Mode shifts more load onto the rear tires for straight-line runs. Dodge added a Drive Experience Recorder from Cosworth as standard equipment, a system that records video, audio and performance data from every run and can sync with a phone app afterward.

Cooling System Doubles Down to Handle the Heat

Dodge redesigned the front fascia to pull 30 percent more air into the engine bay and increased downforce by more than 100 pounds at 150 mph. The high-temperature coolant circuit gains more than 50 percent additional cooling capacity, and the low-temperature circuit more than doubles its capacity, changes Dodge says let the car run repeated hard laps or dragstrip passes without losing power to heat.

Three Launch Colors and a Redesigned Cabin

Dodge will sell the Launch Edition in three colors only: a new yellow-green shade called Sucker Punch, a dark gray called Shady, and Diamond Black. Each pairs with gloss-black “Stinger” bodyside graphics, Hyper Lime brake calipers and a Super Bee logo redesigned around the shape of a turbocharger’s spool.

Inside, Dodge added cloth high-back performance seats, the first cloth option offered in the current Charger, along with a new leather steering wheel that houses the rear-wheel-drive button and larger paddle shifters. The instrument panel carries a dedicated Super Bee badge and contrast stitching throughout the cabin.

Where the Super Bee Fits in the Charger Lineup

The Super Bee now sits at the top of the gas-powered Charger range, above the 420-horsepower Charger R/T and the 550-horsepower Charger Scat Pack. Only the all-electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack, rated at 670 horsepower, produces more output in the current Charger lineup, though it trades the turbocharged six-cylinder soundtrack for an electric motor.

The Super Bee name dates back to 1968, when Dodge fitted a 425-horsepower V8 into the Coronet-based original. It joined the Charger lineup in 1971, returned in 2007 as a limited-production model, and closed out the last Charger generation in 2023 with 485 horsepower as part of Dodge’s “Last Call” send-off before the brand’s shift toward turbocharged and electric power. The 2027 Launch Edition marks the badge’s return under Dodge’s SIXPACK engine strategy, which replaced the discontinued HEMI V8 in most Charger trims.
