The 2026 Nissan Armada PRO-4X has been honored by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) being named the SUV of Texas following the group’s annual Texas Truck Rodeo.

“Powerful, confident and exceptionally refined, the Nissan Armada PRO-4X delivers the kind of capability, comfort and presence that Texas SUV buyers demand,” said Cory Fourniquet, outgoing president, Texas Auto Writers Association. “It stood out as a complete package, making it a deserving winner of the 2026 SUV of Texas Award.”

The 2026 Nissan Armada continues to make its mark on the full-size SUV segment with supreme comfort, premium interior features, confident handling, effortless off-road capability and next-level technologies. There is an Armada grade for every adventure, including the rugged PRO-4X, the dynamic NISMO and the luxurious Platinum Reserve.

Armada’s standard twin-turbo V6 is rated for 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, enabling a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,500 pounds Advanced technologies that help simplify off-roading, commuting and highway driving include available Invisible Hood View, Front Wide View and 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor camera systems, and available ProPILOT Assist 2.1, enabling hands-off freeway driving for attentive drivers.

Armada PRO-4X excels beyond the pavement with all-terrain tires, an off-road-specific front bumper with an increased approach angle, underbody skid plates, an electronic locking differential and Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension.

New for the 2026 model year, the first-ever Armada NISMO has an additional 35 horsepower over other Armada models, for a total of 460 horsepower (when using premium fuel only), plus NISMO-exclusive steering and suspension tuning, NISMO 22-inch forged alloy wheels and aerodynamically enhanced bodywork.

The 32nd Texas Truck Rodeo, hosted annually by TAWA, was held Sept. 26, 2025, at the off-road course located at Eagle Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas. Media from across Texas converged on the course to test the newest and best trucks and SUVs in a rugged off-road environment.
