American Honda Posts Multiple April Sales Records


American Honda, the parent company of Honda and Acura, has reported impressive sales figures for April, with a total of 137,656 units sold. The company’s success was driven by record sales of light trucks (100,079 units) and electrified models (41,116), thanks to the introduction of all-new products and a healthy inventory.
Honda Brand Shines with Double-Digit Growth
The Honda brand experienced a remarkable 16.6% year-over-year growth in April, with sales totaling 123,637 units. This brings the brand’s year-to-date growth to 8.5%, with passenger cars, light trucks, and electrified models all contributing to the impressive sales figures.
Light trucks were the standout performers for Honda, with April sales of 88,807 units, a 24% increase compared to the previous year. The CR-V continued to be the brand’s best-selling model, achieving its best-ever April sales with 41,483 units sold and a hybrid sales mix exceeding 53%. The all-new Passport also had a record-breaking April, with sales of 5,457 units, a staggering 98.9% increase year-over-year. The HR-V, Honda’s gateway CUV, posted strong April sales of 13,912, up 6.7% year-to-date and marking its best April ever.
Honda’s passenger cars also performed well, with the Civic leading the pack on sales of 23,553 units. The Civic hybrid achieved a record April and its second-best month of all-time, while the Accord topped a 60% hybrid mix. The Odyssey minivan also had a strong showing, with sales of 9,677 units, up 32.1% year-over-year and marking its best April in nine years.
Electrified Vehicles Reach New Heights
American Honda set an all-time April record for sales of electrified vehicles, with 38,785 units sold. This achievement was led by hybrid-electric models, with the Civic, CR-V, and Accord all posting impressive hybrid sales mixes. The all-electric Prologue SUV also made its mark, with sales reaching 1,847 units.
Acura Brand Achieves Best April Since 2021
Acura, American Honda’s luxury vehicle division, recorded sales of 14,019 units in April, a 33% increase compared to the previous year. This marks the brand’s best April performance since 2021, driven by the strong performance of the all-new ADX gateway SUV and a robust supply across the lineup.
Acura’s SUV sales were particularly impressive, with 11,272 units sold, representing a 49.1% increase in April. The all-electric ZDX posted a new monthly sales record of 2,331 units, while the MDX and RDX also had strong showings, with sales of 4,230 units (up 3.1%) and 3,741 units (up 8.2%), respectively.
Acura’s sedan lineup also contributed to the brand’s success, with sales reaching 2,747 units. The Integra continued to lead its segment with a 41% market share, selling 2,038 units in April.
