  • Casey Corradin, a Delaware TikToker, removed her engagement ring to apply hand sanitizer and lotion before stepping out of her car during a routine wash, and it disappeared while staff cleaned the vehicle interior.
  • Police attended the scene, interviewed workers, and searched the facility but did not recover the ring; the one camera that could have captured the relevant area was reportedly broken.
  • Corradin’s father is now visiting pawn shops across Delaware with a poster describing the ring, a black teardrop diamond with white diamonds on the band, as the search continues.

A Delaware woman is searching for her engagement ring after it went missing during a routine car wash, with police called to the scene and the one relevant security camera reported as out of service.

Casey Corradin, who posts on TikTok as @casecorradinn, described the incident in a video that has drawn more than 168,000 views. She had removed her engagement ring to apply hand sanitizer and lotion before stepping out of the vehicle, as required by the car wash’s procedures, leaving it on the seat alongside two other rings. When she returned to the car, the engagement ring was gone.

“The second I sit down, I realize my engagement ring is missing,” she said. “I had three rings to start. Two rings are still there. The most expensive ring with a diamond on it is not there anymore.”

Corradin approached a manager, who said she did not know how to access the security camera footage and asked her to return the following day. Corradin refused to leave without answers. After she told staff she would call police, the manager reviewed the footage, only to find that the single camera that would have shown the driver’s seat area was broken.

Police arrived, interviewed workers, and conducted a search of the facility. They did not find the ring, and Corradin filed a police report.

“The car wash has all of my information in case it magically shows up,” she said. “But I have accepted the fact that it’s gone.”

Corradin acknowledged her role in the situation.

“I 100% realize this is my own fault for leaving my ring in that situation. That is the part that is eating me alive,” she said.

Her father has since been going to pawn shops across Delaware carrying a poster with photographs of the ring, described as a black teardrop-shaped diamond with white diamonds on the band. Pawn shops are a common outlet for people selling jewelry for cash, and if the ring can be identified as stolen property, Corradin may be able to recover it without cost.

In a follow-up video, Corradin told viewers she had not located the ring.

“I’m coming to terms with it. I really don’t think we’re going to get any luck at any pawn shops. But who knows? Crazier things have happened,” she said.

Viewers responding to the video largely sided with Corradin, pushing back on her self-blame.

“God forbid you have your own belongings in YOUR OWN car??? this is not your fault at all and I’m so sorry this happened to you Case,” one commenter wrote.

Another added, “Don’t blame yourself! it was your car and your space, it should have been safe there. i’m sorry :(“

Some offered alternative explanations for the disappearance, with several suggesting the ring may not have been taken at all.

“They have high suction vacuums. This happened to a friend of mine and they found the ring in the vacuum they used,” one commenter wrote.

“Did they check the vacume? like maybe even the hose?” another asked.

A third commenter suggested, “Could it have fallen out of the car when you got out to switch with the worker driving? My SIL had that happen and it was found a week later by someone that saw the ring glisten in the dirt.”

The case remains unresolved.
