Seven Honda Models Earn 2026 “Editors’ Choice” Awards from Car and Driver

The editors at Car and Driver have honored seven Honda models with 2026 “Editors’ Choice” awards, recognizing each vehicle as the best in its respective category, and wholeheartedly recommending them to buyers. Honda gas-powered and hybrid-electric models were recognized across a multitude of segments.

The following Honda models earned 2026 Car and Driver “Editors’ Choice” awards:

• Mid-size Family Sedan: 2026 Honda Accord including Accord hybrid
• Compact Car: 2026 Honda Civic including Civic hybrid
• Sport Compact Car: 2026 Honda Civic Si
• Sport Compact Car: 2026 Honda Civic Type R
• Compact SUV: 2026 Honda CR-V
• Hybrid Compact SUV: 2026 Honda CR-V hybrid
• Mid-Size Two-Row SUV: 2026 Honda Passport

The Car and Driver “Editors’ Choice” honorees are selected from more than 450 models that Car and Driver tests, rates and ranks across 47 unique vehicle segments annually. Only vehicles with a 9-, 9.5-, or 10-star rating earn a place on the Editors’ Choice list. These are the vehicles ranked at the top of their segments and are considered by the editorial staff as exemplary choices in their respective classes.

This year Honda has also earned four coveted 2026 Car and Driver 10Best awards, more than any other brand for the fourth year in a row – and the most in 10Best award history. The editors of Car and Driver have honored the Honda Civic lineup that includes the Civic Sedan, Hatchback, Si, Type R and Civic hybrid models, and the Accord and Accord hybrid with 10Best Cars awards. The 2026 Honda CR-V and CR-V hybrid as well as the all-new 2026 Passport were also recognized with Car and Driver 10Best SUV awards.

Now with 99 total awards*, Honda has won more Car and Driver 10Best trophies than any other brand in the over 40-year history of the award. Honda Accord is the most awarded vehicle in Car and Driver 10Best history by a wide margin. Accord has made the prestigious list an incredible 40 times, including the last 28 years in a row. This is the 12th 10Best award for Civic and the seventh win for CR-V.
