A dedicated Land Rover Collection by global online platform, Collecting Cars, will launch on 1 December and run until 8 December. Attracting consignments and bidders from around the globe, the Land Rover Collection includes some of the most significant Land Rovers ever made, including past James Bond stars, run-out JLR Classic Works V8s, fully restored and low mileage variants, as well as modern Defenders and Range Rover Classics, plus a special lot, with the Buyer’s Premium being donated to charity, raising funds for Help for Heroes.

Celebrating not only the enduring legacy of the Land Rover marque but its popularity with collectors globally, The Land Rover Collection by Collecting Cars includes a selection of limited-edition Land Rovers and bespoke builds, including a former ‘007 baddie’. Known as the only Land Rover to have appeared in two consecutive James Bond films, Collecting Cars has secured this special ‘Classic’ Defender, a 2011 Land Rover Defender SVX ‘Spectre’, which starred in both Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015). Originally used as a metallic grey Defender 110 Double-Cab in Skyfall, it was transformed by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) and Bowler into the menacing ‘Bigfoot’ Defender for Spectre, complete with 37-inch all-terrain tyres and roll cage. Accompanied by extensive provenance, including a Spectre plaque and signed documentation, this vehicle is a rare collector’s opportunity.

Extending the James Bond theme is a rare 2021 Land Rover Defender 90 V8 Bond Edition, located in Denmark and retaining its VAT Qualifying status. Designed by Land Rover SV Bespoke, this limited-edition model was inspired by the vehicles featured in No Time to Die, with only 300 units produced worldwide. Powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering 525PS (518bhp) and 460 lb ft of torque, it pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission for a thrilling performance. Presented in left-hand-drive configuration and having covered just 23,500 km (14,600 miles), this is an outstanding example of a modern Defender with Hollywood pedigree and Land Rover heritage.

Meanwhile, a later, last-of-the-line Land Rover Defender has also been secured. This, a 2014 Land Rover Defender 90 Works V8 70th Edition, is one of only 150 built to commemorate Land Rover’s 70th anniversary and based in the UK. Manufactured in 2018, and fitted with a V8 powertrain, eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, and uprated handling, it’s a modern reimagining of the Defender’s iconic heritage, resplendent in its all-black colour scheme.  It sits proudly next to a 2015 Land Rover Defender 110 Heritage. With just 695 miles from new, the Grasmere Green Heritage Edition is a stunning tribute to the marque’s early design cues, marking the end of the Defender’s original production run, and features retro details like steel wheels, ‘HUE 166’ decals, and a classic grille. Built to mark the end of Defender production, this model is a fitting tribute to one of the world’s most beloved off-road vehicles.

Partnering with celebrated UK-based Land Rovers of London, Collecting Cars will be exhibiting at its upcoming Christmas Meet-Up on 1 December. The event not only combines Land Rover collectors and a festive spirit, where Christmas-themed upgrades are encouraged, but also a charity element, with proceeds going to military charity, Help for Heroes. The Land Rover Collection, which also launches on Sunday 1 December, will also include a UK-based 1983 Land Rover 101 Forward Control, a military-inspired model finished in Sand and Nato Green, with just 21,755 indicated miles. The full Buyer’s Premium will be donated to Help for Heroes, embodying the festive spirit of giving and partnership with Land Rovers of London.

The Land Rover Collection also features exceptional examples of bespoke craftsmanship and meticulous restoration quality. Highlights include a 2016 Land Rover Defender 110 XS, expertly rebuilt by Bespoke Defenders in 2020 to an outstanding standard, with custom modifications totalling over £60,000. Another standout is a fully restored 1980 Land Rover Series III 88″, showcasing a striking burgundy exterior paired with a matching burgundy and black interior. This vehicle perfectly captures the rugged charm and practicality that defined Land Rover’s early heritage, too.

Edward Lovett, Founder and CEO of Collecting Cars, said: “The Land Rover marque has always been a firm favourite, and its enduring legacy since the Fifties ensures it remains a cornerstone of the global collector car market for both classic and modern models. Our Land Rover Collection pays tribute to this iconic brand while meeting market demand for some of the rarest and most sought-after variants. Over the past year, we’ve observed a significant rise in sales of classic Series models (Series I, II, and III) alongside limited-edition, low-volume bespoke Defenders. From the sale of a Range Rover Classic in 2019 to the introduction of this carefully curated collection, the continued popularity of our platform highlights how Collecting Cars has redefined auctions for buyers and sellers worldwide.”

The Land Rover marque holds special significance for Collecting Cars, as its first sale in 2019 was a Range Rover Classic. For more information on the Land Rover auction, which will be live between 1–8 December, please visit collectingcars.com/collection/the-land-rover-collection
