Renowned Range Rover Classic coachbuilder, Kingsley Re-Engineered (Kingsley) has unveiled its brand-new take on this revered British legend – the Kingsley KSR Range Rover Classic. Building on the legacy of the acclaimed KC and KR series, this latest offering is a fresh take on the iconic Range Rover Classic. The KSR represents a step-change for the company, introducing a host of firsts for the esteemed Land Rover and Range Rover Classic artisans.

Designed and re-engineered to represent a new take on a modernised Range Rover Classic, the KSR is the most superior Kingsley ever conceived by the British company. It features a set of overhauled and re-designed premium interiors, delivering a modern experience while retaining some of the beloved features of old. Traditional buttons and synonymous Range Rover Classic features like the driving position and iconic veneer trim finishing remain as part of this beautifully crafted, yet sympathetic re-design. Standard on the KSR is Kingsley’s proven and celebrated 4.6-litre High Torque V8, delivering 270 bhp and 310 ft-lbs of torque at 3,500 rpm, with a top speed of 120 mph+, and a 0-60 mph time of 9.8 seconds when paired to an optimised four-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, Kingsley will also offer optional Chevrolet LS3/LT1 V8 engines with specifically optimised six-speed gearbox pairings, too.

For the first time, Kingsley’s proprietary, in-house designed and engineered, centre console instrument panel and dashboard for the KSR has been introduced. Crafted by Kingsley’s expert team, these bespoke components highlight the brand’s commitment to innovation and engineering at the highest level from its Oxfordshire, UK facility. The new interior seamlessly integrates with the vehicle’s modernised features, enhancing both functionality and style while preserving the classic Range Rover look and feel.

With over two decades of expertise in optimising the Range Rover Classic, Kingsley has co-created several specialist upgrades to enhance the driving experience, power delivery and overall enjoyment of its handcrafted vehicles. The KSR will be the very first build to feature the exclusive, Kingsley-optimised TracTive adaptive suspension kit for the Range Rover Classic, which offers pre-set controls that can be adjusted at the touch of a button in the cabin. This digitally enhanced experience is complemented by a full-stack digital dashboard, integrated Apple CarPlay, and a fully modernised air-conditioning system. The new dashboard vents work seamlessly with the upgraded air conditioning, ensuring improved climate control throughout the cabin.

Established in 2001 in Oxfordshire, UK, adjacent to the heritage site of the original Range Rover Classic factory, Kingsley is renowned for its work on Range Rover Classics and iconic Land Rovers, delivering over 500 bespoke builds since its inception. Kingsley’s portfolio includes everything from one-off builds to Concours-winning restorations, and even specially commissioned off-road rally champion-winning variant, alongside its celebrated ULEZ Reborn, KC and KR series.

John Sawbridge, Managing Director of Kingsley Re-Engineered said: “Since 2001 Kingsley and Range Rover Classics have been an iconic duo, setting unmatched standards in the world of the beloved British marque. The KSR represents a monumental leap forward, harnessing the unparalleled expertise of our extraordinarily talented 21-strong team and collaborating with the industry’s top-tier supply partners, all while answering our customers’ wishes and requests.

“The KSR is the ultimate embodiment of our [Kingsley’s] groundbreaking vision for the future. We’ve completely modernising the Range Rover Classic without compromising an ounce of the timeless charm or beauty of this iconic car. Stepping inside the KSR [cabin] reveals an extraordinary experience, distinctly unlike any vehicle we’ve ever created. And, when you drive it – you realise it’s a step above any Range Rover Classic – becoming the most superior Kingsley ever built. We firmly believe this to be the best and most thoughtfully re-engineered [Range Rover] Classic in the world. This is a true statement of intent from us [Kingsley] for future builds, and it shows our [Kingsley’s] dedication to creating vehicles that honour the past while embracing the future, ensuring each new model is even better than the last.”

A brand-new take on an iconic classic – worthy of the green oval and a place in the most celebrated collections worldwide
The Range Rover Classic is one of the most iconic vehicles created from the Land Rover marque – with a history that dates back to 1970 and continued until 1996. Today, the Range Rover Classic is at home in country clubs, country estates and countless collections worldwide. An off-roader that has a celebrated history, the Range Rover Classic has found cult status as an SUV classic with charm. Although the original models have their quirks, they provide an excellent foundation for enhanced powertrains, modern comfort features, and adaptive suspensions. Kingsley’s re-engineering of the Range Rover Classic, with its advanced TracTive suspension system and a host of bespoke packages, offers a compelling option for those seeking a modern twist on a classic, whether for daily commutes or grand tours.

Crafted at Kingsley’s facility in the heart of the UK’s automotive valley, just a stone’s throw away from the original Solihull factory, each Kingsley KSR is created entirely by hand, from the ground up. Unlike previous models, the KSR uses only original donor vehicles from pre-1993, available in either late two-door or four-door configurations. It’s then over to the customer to dream up their individual specification, using a range of Heritage hues or special-order colour specifications, alongside aesthetic materials and engineering components from the tried and tested Kingsley team. Unlike many of its peers, Kingsley completes all paintwork on-site, meaning that production, paint and build are never more than a few hundred yards away from each other. For those seeking a more personalised touch, bespoke colours and finishes are available on request, including options for custom PPF and ceramic coating, ensuring a truly unique and durable finish.

An interior that screams modernity – yet keeping buttons and the special feeling of being in a Range Rover Classic
The KSR series is superior in every sense, featuring completely new interiors crafted by world-class trimmers and automotive-oriented leather artisans. In a world-first for Kingsley and the Range Rover Classic, it is equipped with a fully digital dashboard, newly designed vents and an overhauled air conditioning unit, ensuring the KSR works as intended in any climate or country. Additionally, the introduction of new cup holders and integrated connecting charging ports [USB and USB-C] adds a practical and modern touch to the cabin, enhancing everyday usability.

Focusing on ultimate luxury, comfort, quality and modern usability, Kingsley worked in tandem with a British manufacturing partner to bring the new interior to life. As found in the KSR, the new Kingsley-created KSR cabin provides a blank canvas for customisation, offering customers the option to choose from an array of leathers and premium materials. The dashboard retains beloved features such as the buttons, the clock, and the beloved wood veneer, but much of the switchgear has been updated and relocated. Moving to the binnacle – the friendly face that the driver will see every day – it has been revitalised with a fully digital dashboard, further enhancing the driver’s experience.

In keeping with KSR’s modern ethos, a built-in Apple CarPlay system is standard, alongside a new air conditioning centrepiece. This air-conditioning, a common weak point for most 90s-era Range Rover Classics, has been completely re-engineered and modernised to keep occupants comfortable in all weather conditions, with the new vents integrated into the dashboard enhancing climate control throughout. The KSR represents a significant investment in Kingsley’s future and will lead the way for future customers to enjoy a modern yet quintessentially British Range Rover Classic, that keeps all the charm of the iconic vehicle, with modern touches to make sure it’s a companion for everyday life.

A celebration of Kingsley
Kingsley introduces its latest creation, the Kingsley KSR Range Rover, under new group ownership and management. Continuing its tradition of quality and innovation in classic Land Rover and Range Rover-based engineering, the team remains dedicated to precision and craftsmanship. The first Kingsley KSR showcases this commitment, with its striking Brewster Green exterior, Chestnut leather interior, ancient Black Watch tartan accents and Boxweave carpets, all powered by the standard engine and gearbox configuration – Kingsley’s High Torque 4.6-litre V8.

This launch marks reaffirms the company’s next chapter, as it continues to blend heritage with fresh vision under new group ownership and management. The team offers a range of bespoke services from Kingsley’s Oxfordshire facility, where restoration and re-engineering are carried out with meticulous attention to detail. The Kingsley KSR is a prime example of the craftsmanship and customisation that define the brand’s approach to reimagining iconic vehicles.

The new Kingsley KSR is available in two- and four-door configurations, with worldwide delivery options. Prices start from £220,000 plus VAT, with all builds continuing to be hand-crafted from Kingsley’s Oxfordshire-based HQ. To create your own bespoke KSR.
