The New Continental GT Speed: Redefining The Definitive Grand Tourer
Bentley Motors has introduced the fourth generation of the Continental GT Speed, setting a new benchmark for power, luxury, and everyday usability. This latest model boasts several impressive features:
- Powertrain: The Continental GT Speed is equipped with a new 782 PS, 1000 Nm ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid’ powertrain. It offers an electric range of 50 miles (81 km) and CO2 emissions of 29 g/km. The car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and has a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h).
- Design and Components: The fourth-generation model features a bold new design, including single headlamps and 68% new components compared to its predecessor. The interior offers advanced wellness seat technology, air ionisation, 3D leather, new quilting, and dark chrome finishes.
- Chassis and Dynamics: The car features a new chassis system with two-chamber air springs, dual-valve dampers, and Bentley Dynamic Ride. These enhancements provide exceptional body control and the best ride comfort in the Continental GT series.
- Technology and Interior: The new electrical architecture supports cutting-edge technology for an unrivaled user experience. The ‘My Bentley App Studio’ integrates popular apps directly into the car. The Continental GT Speed also features an impressive audio system, a rotating display, and mood lighting with 30 color options.
- Performance: The new powertrain includes a 4.0-liter V8 engine and a 190 PS electric motor, delivering a combined output of 782 PS. This makes it the most powerful Bentley ever, surpassing previous models like the Supersports and the Batur.
- Driving Modes and Comfort: The car offers multiple driving modes, including full electric and hybrid, providing both performance and comfort. The Continental GT Speed is designed to handle various driving styles and conditions with its advanced ESC system and perfect 49:51 weight distribution.
- Exterior and Aerodynamics: The exterior redesign includes a new front aspect with single headlamps, a redesigned rear, and new 22” wheels with a directional design. The taillights feature a three-dimensional diamond pattern, creating a striking visual effect.
- Convertible Version: For the first time, the convertible Continental GTC is launched simultaneously with the coupe. It features a seven-bow fabric roof system that can be deployed in 19 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph (48 km/h).
- Underwater Speed Record: Bentley set an unofficial underwater speed record with the Continental GT Speed, reaching 208 mph (335 km/h) in the Ryfylke Tunnel in Norway, the world’s longest subsea road tunnel.
In summary, the new Continental GT Speed combines striking design, cutting-edge technology, and unmatched performance to redefine the grand tourer category. Handcrafted at Bentley’s Dream Factory in Crewe, England, it represents the pinnacle of luxury automotive engineering. Production and deliveries are set to begin in Q3.
